Douchebag Doctor Page 3
“But you just said —”
“I know. I was bluffing. I’m an asshole, remember?”
“You are,” Michelle agreed, though she couldn’t help her smile. “Thanks for your help at the hospital, by the way.”
“You’re welcome. It could have been much worse.”
“Yeah. I thought I was being careful,” she said. “The details are still blurry.”
“That’s pretty normal under the circumstance. The drug normally wipes out your memory of the evening.”
Michelle bobbed her head.
“How did I wind up there, anyway?”
Liam took a long sip from his cup, leaving a mist of foam on his upper lip. He wiped it away with the back of his hand.
“I was outside on my break. You stumbled into the driveway and fell over. You didn’t get back up again.”
Michelle’s eyes widened. He had saved her.
“That’s awful.”
“Yeah. You scared me a little.” He smiled. “Thought I was going to lose my favourite yoga teacher.”
She ignored the cutesy comment and changed the topic.
“So, what do you do when you’re not at the hospital?”
“I surf. I do yoga. I garden.” He winked.
The latter surprised Michelle.
“You garden? Really?”
“Yeah. Why is that such a big deal?”
“I don’t know. You don’t strike me as a nature-lover. Do you yell at your plants too?”
“Sometimes.” He chuckled. Even his laugh had an accent.
He slid his phone across the table.
“Can I have your number?”
Michelle reluctantly punched it in.
“Fine. But this means nothing.”
“Okay, tiger.”
They talked for a while longer. The conversation turned to surfing and where Liam was from (London). Michelle was having a surprisingly good time. She liked that she could be blunt around him. His feelings weren’t easily hurt — if he even had any.
Heat began spreading through Michelle’s panties. She was powerless to stop it. Her worst fear was being realized: she was catching feelings. It was a slippery slope. What was next? Waiting for his text messages? Jealousy? Making love instead of fucking? The thought sickened her. She had to make this about sex. Stand her ground.
“Liam,” she said in her most matter-of-fact voice. “I want you to take me back to your place now.”
His brows raised. The rest of his expression didn’t waver.
“What for?”
“I think you know exactly what for.”
She downed the last of her drink and left without looking back. In the parking lot, she leaned against the hot metal of his vehicle, waiting.
He didn’t disappoint.
Liam followed a minute later, sporting a sly grin.
“Only if you admit this is a date.”
“Whatever you say, Liam.”
That prompted a chesty laugh.
“Good enough for me.”
Then he kissed her.

___
Michelle had never been kissed quite like Liam kissed her. He didn’t act delicately like so many men did. She hated that, anyway. Liam treated her body as if it belonged to him. As if he knew what it desired better than she did. His hands slipped into her back pockets and squeezed. His tongue, velvety soft, slid into her mouth, prompting her to open wider. He groaned softly, rousing something primal in Michelle’s gut. Her hands flew around his neck and pressed them closer together.
She would have screwed him right there in the parking lot if Liam hadn’t broken the kiss.
“Let’s go,” he murmured.
The ride to his place felt like five hundred miles instead of five. She rubbed him through his jeans. His fingers palmed Michelle’s legs, bare beneath her denim skirt. They drifted higher and higher, playing a dangerous game of chicken. When his hand reached the roughness of her lace panties, Michelle’s eyes closed. She played one sentence on repeat in her brain: this is just sex. Just. Sex. If she could keep it at that, she’d remain in control.
Liam lived in a spacious condo on the twentieth floor of a building downtown. All of the outside walls were glass. The view was killer, but Michelle barely noticed. She was too fixated on getting her fill.
She wanted to be full of Liam.
He lifted her onto his bed and stripped her bare.
“I love your body.”
“Thank you.”
Michelle didn’t feel shy. She worked hard for her physique, which was curvy in all the right places. She liked her wide hips and her athletic shoulders.
“I’m not giving you what you want,” he stated.
“What?” Yes, he was. Why else did she come here?
Liam ignored her question. He began to kiss his way all around her skin. He sucked her breasts, leaving a hickey by her nipple. Then he kissed her ribs, causing Michelle to draw in a breath. Then her bellybutton, making her abs flex. When Liam reached her hip bones, he paused to nibble at her skin. Michelle moaned.
Then he descended lower. Tickling her inner thighs with his lips. Cupping her ass and squeezing. Gathering her breasts in his hands.
Michelle needed him to speed up. She wasn’t used to being tortured like this. And yes, she used the word torture, because that’s how it felt. Her entire body was screaming that she needed him. Now.
She sat up and yanked his zipper down. Then his boxers. His cock stood at attention, long and heavy. It bounced, greeting her. Michelle wrapped her tiny fingers around it and slid them up and down, watching the tip as it quivered.
“Not yet,” he said, encircling her wrists with his hands. He pinned her to the bed and kissed her roughly.
Yes. Fuck me, she thought.
He slid down her.
When his tongue flicked against her clitoris, she just about lost it. The doctor had skill. He knew all about her anatomy, and he wasn’t afraid to show it. With two fingers, he spread her wide, adding to the sensation of tightness.
“Liam!” Michelle exclaimed, split by pleasure as his index finger entered her. Then another, which felt larger.
His laugh vibrated against her opening, and his tongue joined in, stuffing itself inside. He lapped and sucked and flicked until her entire body tensed, climaxing over his mouth.
“Your pussy is so sweet,” Liam stated, stretching out beside her. Michelle felt like she’d entered another dimension. She’d melted into his marshmallowy bed. Liam had succeeded in shutting her up.
A ringtone pierced the silence.
“That’s my work phone. I have to get it.”
Liam pressed the device to his ear.
“I see… Okay. Yes. Mhm… Okay. Be right there.”
“There’s an emergency,” he said. “I have to go.”
Michelle pulled her skirt back on. She left her panties, hoping Liam wouldn’t notice. They were too wet to wear.
“You should stay. I’ll come back when I’m finished.”
Michelle didn’t reply. She just watched as he got dressed, pulling on a fresh pair of scrubs that just about made her mouth water.
Liam kissed her goodbye.
“See you later, beautiful.”
To any other woman, the sentiment would have been endearing. To Michelle, it felt like a death sentence. It reminded her of something: a memory. One she had desperately tried to forget. The reason she didn’t want to be with anyone, even Liam.
She waited until he was gone, and then she slipped away.
She couldn’t ever see him again.
At home, her roommate berated her.
“You quit your yoga class? Why? You love that studio.”
“It just doesn’t feel like a good fit,” Michelle shrugged. “They said I don’t even have to come in next week.”
“I think you’re making a mistake.”
“You can think whatever you wan
t. It’s a free country. Doesn’t make you right, though.”
“Doesn’t make you right either.”
Michelle disappeared to her room and flopped onto her bed. She still smelled Liam all over her body. She found herself tracing the hickey he’d branded her with. It was tainted with sadness now.
Sadness because this is where their fling would end. He obviously wanted something she couldn’t give him. That was that. Michelle didn’t let anyone play with her heart, especially when she didn’t know who would win the game. The doctor was no different. No matter how (literally) cocky he’d been.
If she went out with him, he’d get sick of her eventually. Maybe he’d cheat. Maybe he’d just stop calling. Or maybe he’d string her along for a few years and leave when he got sick of her. She’d experienced all of the above in the past. Either way, it had to end here.
Michelle stopped going to the yoga studio, even in her spare time. She avoided the coffee shop by her place. Whenever she saw a black range rover, she’d cross her fingers, hoping it wouldn’t be Liam.
On a Friday night, her third one spent at home in a row, Michelle’s phone vibrated beneath her.
Liam: I hope you didn’t quit teaching yoga because of me.
They’d been texting back and forth for the past couple of weeks, but this was the first time he’d mentioned anything about yoga. Michelle hoped he’d gotten her silent hint to never mention their hook-up again.
Michelle: Nope. I just wanted a change, that’s all.
Liam: Oh, okay. I’m glad. How are you?
Michelle: Good. Still afraid of bars. Keeping a low profile.
Liam: I’d be happy to chaperone ;)
Michelle: Ha.Ha. No thanks.
Liam: Why?
Michelle: I don’t date. You seem to want a girlfriend.
Liam: True. We can still be friends though, right?
Michelle: I guess so.
She thought about leaving the conversation there, but something stopped her.
Michelle: How are things with you?
Liam: Can’t complain. Work’s been crazy… need to relax. I’m actually throwing a Halloween party next Friday if you’re free. Costumes are mandatory :P
Michelle’s pulse quickened. She couldn’t deny that she wanted to see Liam. There was no such thing as having too many friends. Maybe she could even add him to her list of potential fuck buddies after her feelings had worn off.
Michelle: Sure. I’ll bring my roommate, Bree.
Liam: Awesome. It starts at nine. You know where I live.
They chatted for a while longer before Michelle made up an excuse and said she had to go. She was getting sucked in again. She needed to keep a cool head.
Michelle spent the next hour conjuring a plan to forget about the doctor. All she really needed was a good lay. There was nothing magical about him and his fingers. Or his mouth. Another guy could stuff her hole just as well.
Still shaken up from her latest bar experience, Michelle took to her list of contacts, messaging a few guys that she’d hooked up with over the years and deemed at least adequate.
They were all taken. And faithful, apparently.
“Hey, Bree! Can you come here?”
Her cousin joined her on the floor in the bedroom, her hair wet from a fresh shower.
“Okay, but it has to be quick. I’m going to Jake’s soon.”
“It won’t take long.”
With Bree’s assistance, she set up a profile on a dating app using a sensual photo of herself that bordered on risqué.
“You’re sure you want to do this?” Her roommate prodded her.
“Yes. I need to have sex or my vagina will disappear.”
“I don’t think that’s how the female body works… But okay. I just want to make sure you’re not doing this out of fear.”
“Fear? Of what?”
“Of being hurt.” Her blue eyes looked like pools of glass. With her smattering of freckles, she resembled a fairy. “I know what happened with your ex was awful, but you can’t be afraid forever. Not every guy is going to cheat or treat you like garbage. Trust me, I thought I was doomed to be alone until I met Jake. Now I’m so happy. That can happen for you too if you let it.”
Michelle smiled solemnly.
“I don’t think it can, but screwing is the next best thing.”
Within half an hour, she had a bite on her profile.
Within two, she was on her way to a pub of her choice, eager to pre-screen her hook-up so that she could get what she wanted. Sex. Just sex. Nothing more.
“So, you’re a fitness instructor,” the guy said huskily. “That’s really hot.”
He wasn’t bad looking. He had sandy hair and a narrow nose. His eyes were blue. Another ten minutes of conversation and Michelle would go back to his place.
“Thanks. What do you do, Lance?”
“Oh, I’m in the film industry.”
“That’s cool. Where do you work?”
He turned red as if he’d been caught in a lie.
“Around.” He quickly changed the subject. “I’ve gotta say, your tits are just —”
“Okay. That’s enough. I’m leaving.”
Michelle was sick of idiots only looking at her breasts. Yes, she wanted a hook-up. That didn’t mean she wanted to be objectified. She escaped to the bathroom and snuck out the back exit, giving her roommate a call.
“Hey. Can you come and pick me up? Date was a bust.” She hushed her voice. “I swear there are no decent guys left to fuck in this city.”
Bree’s cackling laughter sounded on the other end of the line. “Sure. I’m coming with Jake. We’ll be in his car.”
“Fine.”
Michelle waited out front, holding the hem of her dress to keep it from blowing in the wind. She’d worn it for easy access. Now it was a weather hazard. She lit a joint as she waited for Bree, attempting to calm her throbbing pussy. She’d just tossed the butt into the trash when a black range rover pulled up to the curb.
Maybe Jake drives one too. Maybe it’s just a guy thing.
The window rolled down.
Liam. Wearing his lab jacket and scrubs.
“I’m delivering a message from your cousin. I’m not really sure what it means.”
“What is it?”
“Don’t be an idiot.”
Michelle opened her mouth to yell at him, but Liam held up his hands in mock surrender.
“I swear I’m not the one who said it.”
Just then, Michelle’s date came out of the entrance to the pub. He froze, staring at her talking to Liam.
“Hey, where did you go?” He asked stupidly.
Michelle climbed into the car and shut the door.
“Go, Liam. NOW!”
The tires screeched against the pavement.
“Bad date?” Liam said as he began to drive.
“Something like that,” Michelle grumbled.
“So. Long-time no see. Was I bad in bed or something?”
Michelle nearly laughed out loud.
“No. Not at all. We just want different things.”
“We do, do we?” He sounded amused.
Michelle felt guilty. He clearly liked her.
“Yes. I want something simple. You want something complicated.”
Now it was Liam’s turn to laugh.
“You think you know me so well.”
Michelle shrugged.
They were quiet until they pulled up to her place.
“Do you want to come in? I could order a pizza or something. We could watch a movie… as friends.”
Liam winced a little at her last word.
“Sure.”
He waited until they were inside before adding something else:
“What about friends with benefits?”

___
Michelle’s brain told her to say no.
Her mouth had other plans.<
br />
“Yes. Okay. Friends with benefits.”
Liam took a step closer. So did Michelle. All at once, they were wrapped up in each other. A tangled mess of hands, lips and groping with no end in sight.
“Where’s your bedroom?” Liam murmured.
Michelle nodded her head up the stairs, surprised when he lifted her off the floor and carried her there.
“Liam!”
“Shhh.” He silenced her with his tongue, dropping her onto the bed. Michelle parted her legs. Her dress had ridden up, exposing the panties she wore: all black, with sheer mesh at the front.
Liam looked like a wet dream. She’d been having a lot of them lately. His hazel eyes were flecked with dark brown specs. They were framed by his messy, coffee-coloured hair. Michelle thought his jaw looked even squarer. She memorized its shape with her touch, pulling him on top of her. Liam so gracefully treaded down her form, leaving a trail of kisses from her mouth to her breast. Michelle reached down his scrubs, taking his length in her hand and pumping.
Once. Twice.
“Fuck,” Liam groaned. His pants fell to his ankles. Michelle frantically heeled his underwear down. She wanted him between her lips, partially to see if he’d even fit.
She pushed him back on the mattress and mounted him, bending over to level with his groin.
Their eyes met. Michelle slowly brought Liam’s hardness to her mouth, licking down it with her tongue. Swirling herself around the salty tip. Stuffing her lips full of him.
“Michelle,” he groaned again, louder this time. She took it as a cue to continue, burying him deeper.
But then Liam took charge.
He lifted Michelle up and tossed her onto the bed. She bounced once, a foot in the air, giggling. Liam shed the rest of his clothes before pulling hers off. When they were both naked, he stood at the foot of the bed, admiring her body for a moment.
“Give me your lab coat,” Michelle said.
She put it on.
“Fuck. That is sexy,” Liam hissed.
“What’s sexy, doctor?”
“You. Now spread your legs.”
“As you wish, doctor.”
She felt cool air on her pussy as he parted her folds. He rubbed her clitoris with one long finger, then slid down into her opening.
